Welcome to the future of honeycomb!

6 May 2023

Italton, the new company of the Tonelli Group, produces honeycomb boards in its most innovative and modern version with a last-generation production process

A sophisticated, highly automated high-performance plant, designed and built to specific requirements, can offer something revolutionary in the furniture market: the honeycomb of the future. The new technology of the Italton plant allows the production of the latest generation panels, different from the classic ones, for composition involving the insertion of longitudinal strips positioned according to the customer’s request and for the relevant production capacity.

(R)evolution panel, the honeycomb panel produced by Italton, starts a new era and revolutionizes furniture production. This Italton panel is robust and light in one because it has a honeycomb inside instead of the classic full one. Externally it is covered with mdf covers in various finishes and decorations, which make it resistant and perfectly flat, without any corrugation because it is glued with a mix of high-performing and non-harmful products.

A very thick panel, lighter than a solid panel, but with the same resistance and higher stability and flatness. Easier to handle, pack, to transport and more manageable when assembling furniture.

(R)evolution panel also has a low environmental impact: the efficiency of the new production process, with a daily production capacity of approximately 25,000 sqm, combined with the reduced weight of the panels, lower consumption of wood material and lower CO2 emissions and of formaldehyde makes (R)evolution panel an ecological innovation. Indeed, using the honeycomb panel means drastic savings in cubic meters of wood. Furthermore, the panel’s lower weight allows higher loading volumes with consequent savings in transport costs and lower CO2 emissions.

The world of furniture will therefore have its revolution. And (R)evolution panel is suitable for all furniture components: kitchen tops, shelves, sides, doors, and bottoms but also walls, displays, billboards or all situations where lightness and strength are required. Even without inserting the strips, simple and resistant fixing systems can be applied using traditional hardware. The panels can be supplied raw or finished with decorative papers upon request. (R)evolution Panel is produced up to 5600 mm in length and up to 2200 mm in width, in thicknesses from 15 mm to 100 mm with up to 9 longitudinal strips in 4 different widths.
