Back again for the 6th consecutive year, the competition aims to enhance the search for creativity and reward innovation in decorative lamps, lighting fixtures, lighting products and home automation solutions, as well as promote companies and activities in the Veneto region, helping to keep the name of Italian style high in the world. Having become a coveted recognition in the world of lighting, one of the sectors of excellence of Italian manufacturing, also this year the award involved a jury composed of leading figures like lighting designers, personalities linked to the world of light, architecture, design and teachers from the academic world: Federico Galluzzi, Stefania Minnella, Alberto Bassi, Carlo Piemonte around the president of the Jury Susanna Antico.
The award ceremony took place on 15th July, in the occasion of the gala dinner in the frame of the historic Villa Cà Marcello di Levada di Piombino Dese (Italy), one of the most beautiful examples of Venetian Villa in Palladian style dating back to the first half of the 1500s. After the reduced edition of 2020, this year the categories have been renewed to adapt to the evolution of the lighting sector. The new structuring aims to reward the creative ability of companies to adapt to the needs of the contract, to the design capacity for new products to be launched in the market, to the ability to innovate also in the production of advanced components.
Thanks to the collaboration with the sponsors HP and Nuovamacut, the finalist companies of the contest organized for the category “Best component for smart lighting – focus 3D printing” had the opportunity to print the candidate accessories/prototypes, thus demonstrating the potential of 3D printing also for the lighting industry.
