Universal Science unveils Lumileds’ new Luxeon HL4X

18 June 2024

As anticipated during the last Light+Building, this high-power LED from Lumileds for high-performance lighting applications improves system efficiency

Recently introduced on the Italian market also by Universal Science, Lumileds’ latest high-power LED gives life to high-efficiency lighting applications and improves system efficiency. This new product was anticipated during the last Light+Building, in Hall 8.0 at the two companies’ shared stand.

The new LUXEON HL4X power LED, which offers efficiency and effectiveness among the highest in the lighting world, uses the standard 3535 footprints and maintains high optical compatibility, allowing quick and easy performance upgrades. All this confirms, for lighting manufacturers, the advantages of standardizing projects around a common footprint, demonstrating that significant improvements in the effectiveness of LEDs are still possible.

The LUXEON HL4X is specifically designed for outdoor and industrial applications such as stadiums, streets, floods, and flashlights. The unique package design offers high throughput, excellent efficacy, colour stability and maximum longevity regardless of the application or environment.

With a typical output of 680 lumens at 1400mA and a typical efficacy of over 168 lm/W, the LUXEON HL4X offers manufacturers a simple and seamless upgrade for any application using a 3535 package with efficiency gains > 10/W. The engineers managed the optical design so that the existing optics for other 3535 solutions also work very well with the new Lumileds LED.
