Barovier&Toso has lightened up the “The Orbit’s Orbit” event organized by Salone del Mobile. Milano in collaboration with West Bund Art & Design in Shanghai
Last November, Barovier&Toso’s participated to The Orbit’s Orbit, an unprecedented performance installation created by artist Matilde Cassani for the Salone del Mobile.Milano in Shanghai. This extraordinary event, held in the futuristic venue The Orbit – designed by architect Thomas Heatherwick – has blended design, art, and culture to offer an immersive and captivating experience, celebrating the value of Italian design in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities.
In this exclusive setting, Barovier&Toso has showcased three of its most renowned table lamps: two Padma models and one Amsterdam model. These creations embody our mastery in Murano glass craftsmanship and represent the perfect balance between tradition and modernity. With their sinuous shapes and timeless elegance, the Padma and Amsterdam lamps have brough light and character to a space that calls discovery, paying homage to the luxury and creativity of Made in Italy design.
Organized in collaboration with Salone del Mobile.Milano and West Bund Art & Design, The Orbit’s Orbit has featured a visionary installation inspired by The Orbit’s unique structure, designed to evoke a “radial city” where design and architecture converge. Artist Matilde Cassani, renowned for her style that moves between architecture, art, and design, has created a dynamic, ever-evolving space where visitors themselves become protagonists. With concentric spirals of iconic products and live performances, this installation transformed the venue into an urban theatre where each object told a story of excellence and innovation. The Salone del Mobile in Shanghai has offered a unique opportunity to strengthen the cultural connection between Italy and China, two countries united by a love for art and design. This event has not only offered Italian luxury and quality design, but also a creative laboratory where diverse traditions meet and enrich each other.
For Barovier&Toso, this event has represented a valuable opportunity to consolidate its presence in the Chinese market, a strategic area for the luxury and high-end design sector. A company proud to be able to tell its story through these works, offering professionals, enthusiasts and design lovers in China an experience that reflects the values and distinctive quality of its brand.
