The meeting will take place on Thursday afternoon, July 11, at the prestigious Palazzo Cà Tron in Venice, organized by the Rete di Imprese Luce in Veneto, in collaboration with the IUAV University of Venice and the Order of Architects PPC of Venice
The event happens as part of the European project “SHAPE-THE-LIGHT” aimed at promoting co-creation and networking among lighting design professionals, empowering the European creative sector. That is a unique, unmissable opportunity for architects, lighting designers, lighting artists, students and companies in the lighting sector to deepen their knowledge and skills on the use of light in the composition of environments and to explore trends in the design of lighting fixtures.

The event will open with introductory greetings by Prof. Benno Albrecht, Rector of the IUAV University of Venice, Arch. Roberto Beraldo, President of the Order of Architects of Venice and Ing. Alberto Sozza, President of the Rete di Imprese Luce in Veneto testifies to the growing collaboration between academic, professional and entrepreneurial institutions in the field of lighting design. The meeting will continue with the intervention of Prof. Alberto Bassi of the IUAV University of Venice, who will present an analysis of the design trends of lighting fixtures, where the constant miniaturization made possible by increasingly compact light sources allows to increase the beauty of spaces, in particular in the enhancement of the artistic-cultural heritage. Subsequently, Arch. Carolina De Camillis, a lighting designer affiliated with the AIDI Association, will highlight the crucial role of lighting designers in light composition. Topics, such as the sustainability of light design, eco-design and human-centric lighting, will be addressed, emphasizing the importance of artistic and conscious use of light to enhance architectural spaces and new concepts of smart cities.
The event will conclude with a panel discussion on the role of women in the lighting design industry. There will be the participation of Arch. Carolina De Camillis, Silvia Betteto of Elesi Luce company, Prof. Laura Bellia President of AIDI, Arch. Francesca Cremasco and Arch. Silvia Codato. Antonella Venza, Cluster Manager of Rete di Imprese Luce in Veneto will moderate the discussion that will provide an opportunity to explore the challenges and opportunities for women in the sector by promoting diversity and professional inclusion.
At the end of the event, a networking cocktail will be held in the gardens of the Palace, where participants can exchange ideas and create new professional connections.
