Also presented was the update of the famous Red Box 555, launched for the first time in 2018, the amplest collection of laminar and multilaminar veneers worldwide
Biodiversity is an industrial inlay enhancing Biodiversity through the optimal reuse of noble wood species (up to 12 different species such as Sides, Walnut, Tanganyika, Maple frisé, Sucupira, Ash, Eucalyptus, Larch, Perper, Bolivar, Oak, Pine, Mahogany, Erable), freely combined with each other in marked horizontal bands, creating an unprecedented effect and never equal to itself.
Through the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology, it was possible to measure the environmental impact of Biodiversity, the new and innovative industrial inlay giving the circular economy competitive advantages. The study was in accordance with international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044. The Biodiversity industrial inlay stems from enhancing waste and unsold products. The use of “second” raw materials from 12 different wood species as inputs to the production process underlines the attention to the issues of circularity and sustainability.
The circularity of Biodiversity is based on the following characteristics:
– “Design for Remanufacturing”, i.e., the restoration of a product that has performance characteristics similar to that of a new product
– Use of secondary raw materials: the use of materials recovered within other internal production processes
– Valuation of waste within the production process
MUTA, an acronym for MU “changeable” and TA for “Tabu”, distinguishes all TABU codes proposed in sheets already spliced, minimizing waste. The noble and precious raw material improves through these sheets, even in the smallest cuts, and in five wood species: Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus Frisé, Oak, Tay, and Sides. The masterful joining technique enhances the wood and its grain, optimizing its use by changing and reinventing its appearance in a new contemporary pattern.
TABU has presented again the NEW RED BOX 555 COLLECTION, the amplest collection in the world of dyed and multilaminar natural veneers, made in Italy, in Cantù, in the productive heart of Lombardy. Consisting of 555 colours, that prodigious collection represents the best of TABU’s technological knowledge developed in almost 100 years of wood dyeing.
At SICAM Pordenone 2023, TABU presented the New 555 Collection “Red Box”, containing 555 samples in 13 folders; the GROOVY Collection, with 14 three-dimensional textures; ESCAPES, 5 mood boards with 24 new decorations and a renewed graphic design.
