After last June’s entry into the group by ELCOM, Starlight acquired control of IVELA spa
Star Capital SGR S.p.A., through its holding company Starlight Group, continues its acquisition of Italian companies specialised in lighting. After last June’s entry into the group by ELCOM Srl, a company based in Brescia, focusing on the production of LED stripes, profiles and LED panels, Starlight acquired control of IVELA spa, a leading company in architectural lighting products for retail, hospitality and residential sectors (with the ARIA brand) and for the high-end cruise ship sector (under the IALUX brand).
The leadership of Starlight Group has been entrusted to Gianpaolo Maurina, a manager with long experience in the business. Karl Oberhollenzer, for many years CEO of Zumtobel Italia, is also present in the board as an independent member. The objective of Starlight, which will continue the process of searching for potential targets for further acquisitions, is to put together a series of Italian excellences in the world of lighting that are complementary and synergic with each other in terms of product and market, and that can bring life to a larger group able to guarantee great reliability, great management of complex projects and to act as a privileged interlocutor for the world of distribution, designers, contractors and lighting specialists.
Also thanks to the participation of Star Capital as an institutional investor in the capital, the strategy envisages the consolidation and the expansion of the group in Italy and in the main international markets, leveraging on the companies’ high-quality standards, the Made in Italy as a distinguishing feature, the specific skills and innovative technologies and the ability to provide customised solutions to customers.
The families De Zorzi for Ivela (with Stefania, Mauro and Roberto) and Antonini for Elcom (with Alessandro and Marco) have reinvested in Starlight Group and will continue to maintain their respective management roles within the companies.
The founders Mario De Zorzi and Livio Antonini will remain as Honorary Chairmen of the companies.
