Ossicolor: zero environmental impact for 100% visual and functional impact

1 September 2022

In 2021, Ossicolor‘s 50th anniversary as leaders in the field of aluminium fixtures and fittings, coincided with its achieving €15.5mn ($17mn; £13mn) in sales, the forecast being for upwards of €18mn ($18.28mn; £15.19mn) for the current year. In the furniture industry, as in all others, facts count more than figures. And the facts are that Ossicolor, a constant high profile presence at over twenty international trade fairs in recent years, has confirmed its role as a leader in this highly competitive field.

In addition to style and substance, Ossicolor is recognized as a technologically advanced company, ever ready to upgrade its “green” credentials with innovative solutions to both its products and their surface treatments. With its HQ located in Spormaggiore, set in the verdant splendor of northern Italy’s Dolomite mountains, Ossicolor couldn’t help being sensitive to environmental issues. Indeed, the company’s objective is to achieve zero waste by the end of 2025, by turning all its surplus materials into saleable products. In addition to recycling nylon, cardboard, and aluminium, Ossicolor is working with the local University in Trento on a pilot scheme to transform aluminium sludge into alumina powder.

Ossicolor’s choices as regards production technology are informed by its awareness of industry’s responsibility towards the environment. The company’s recently inaugurated automatic painting plant employs only water-based materials, opening up a range of innovative surface textures and finishes in lengths up to 4.5 meters (14 feet). Meanwhile, Ossicolor’s new multi-tasking lathe is designed for 24/7 operation, allowing the company to process orders to the highest standards and to meet customers’ strictest deadlines.

With a constant focus on growth, on new ideas that can become successful new products, Ossicolor sets ever more wide-ranging and ever more ambitious objectives. For this company, bringing out the best from aluminium has become a veritable art-form. Ossicolor’s presence at the 2022 edition of SICAM (the International Exhibition of Components, Semi-finished Products, and Accessories for the Furniture Industry), provides a perfect showcase for trade visitors to explore the company’s new products. Conceived and created by Ossicolor’s in-house design team working alongside leading international architects and designers, for major brands, these products include Line 03, an innovative boiserie for 19mm or 22mm panels. Quick and easy to install, Line 03 is both visually appealing, and highly functional, providing a perfect link between kitchen and living room. Jazz, an enhancement of Ossicolor’s celebrated Palo book shelves. Available as a single, double or quadruple option, Jazz works equally well wall-mounted, or as a stand-alone.

Last but certainly not least, Ossicolor’s outdoor kitchen options are a sight to behold: based on the company’s Alubox and Aluframe concepts, these are 100% aluminium, and are designed to respond to customers’ ever increasing interest in cooking outside. Trade visitors will be able to preview these, and many other options, on the Ossicolor stand, at the SICAM show.
