New shades of light: L&L Luce&Light presents the Colorado range

17 April 2023

L&L Luce&Light will be presenting COLORADO, its new family of outdoor linear profiles, at the forthcoming Design Week in Milan. This family of drive-over LED fixtures with built-in power supply was developed as architectural lighting for facades of up to 20 metres tall on urban buildings such as hotels and historic and public buildings. It features efficient, high performance levels, thanks to a luminous flux of over 5700 lm per square metre, and a variety of lengths (60 / 100 / 120 cm), so that it can best satisfy architects’ design requirements.

There are multiple different looks, too: COLORADO can be recessed flush or with a rebated frame. And, for the version that is surface mounted using brackets with two pivot points, there is a further accessory of adjustable brackets that allow the fixture to be spaced up to 270 mm from the installation surface. This enables the light output to reach beyond any protruding architectural elements, such as cornices, corbels or cordons, that could generate unwanted shadows.

The recessed versions of the fixtures can be tilted externally by ±20° with a simple adjustment on the end caps, without compromising their IP65 and IP67 protection level. This adjustability ensures precise positioning, so that the light illuminates the facade uniformly. In addition to being tiltable, the recessed optics offer even greater visual comfort through the availability of anti-glare accessories such as a honeycomb louvre and an anti-glare shield. These are built into the optical unit and tilt together with the optics. The fixtures are suitable for installation in harsh environments, such as the saline conditions found in maritime areas, thanks to the combination of a body in Anticorodal® low-copper-content aluminium and end caps in technopolymer, ensuring excellent heat dissipation and outstanding corrosion resistance. In addition, the screen in transparent, tempered extra-clear glass guarantees impact and scratch resistance (IK09 and IK10).

COLORADO is available with white light colour temperatures of 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 2200K. The latter is suitable for urban, green and public spaces as it protects the circadian cycles of both people and animals. Completing the family are the RGBW version with multicolour high-intensity power LEDs, for particularly dramatic effects produced by extraordinary colour mixing, and the Tunable White version with power LEDs, in which the white light can be adjusted from a warm 2200K light to a cold 5000K, and all the intermediate shades between the two extremes. The light in the RGBW and Tunable White versions is controlled through the DMX+RDM protocol, while the white light version is provided with DALI or 0/1–10V dimming.
