New Airport Terminal, Split

26 October 2021

Split Airport in Croatia is located in the town of Kaštela, 25 km northwest of Split. Opened to traffic in 1966, it is one of the main Croatian airports along with those of Zagreb and Dubrovnik and is connected to major European cities. In recent years, the airport has seen strong growth in the number of passengers travelling to Dalmatian tourist destinations and the company which manages it has decided to implement a programme of expansion and modernisation, with the aim of opening a new terminal and accommodating around three million passengers a year.

The lighting project

An integral part of the extensive investment programme has been the installation of new LED lighting fixtures. For the lighting project of the new Airport Terminal have been chosen different lines of Cariboni Group’s products: Fin, Fin xs, Trail and Levante. Thanks to their compact dimensions and minimalist design, Fin and Fin xs have been used in the wall-recessed version to illuminate pathways and stairways.

For functional lighting, instead, have been installed Trail in the ceiling version with symmetrical optics and Levante in the floodlight version with asymmetrical optics. The light distribution achieved is particularly uniform.

The lighting project has been carried out by IBF Projekt, Cariboni Group’s partner, in cooperation with architect Ivan Vulić, VV-PROJEKT d.o.o.
