Geometric, rectangular “bricks” you can play with to draw attention to a wall or bring a space to life, available in three different sizes and neutral colours or customized finishes, to suit your style and tastes. These are the aesthetics chosen for METOPE, L&L Luce&Light’s new family of outdoor wall-mounted fixtures, developed for lighting the facades of private homes and hospitality venues.

The family’s technical features are equally impressive. It is available in single- and double-beam versions and offers excellent visual comfort thanks to its recessed optics and the possibility of adding the honeycomb louvre accessory. It uses LED light sources with a high colour rendering index (CRI >90), which are available in the colour temperatures 2700K, 3000K and 4000K, as well as in 2200K warm white (Metope 2, Metope 3), to better respect the circadian cycles of people and animals.

With the asymmetrical optics, the light output reaches both the ground and the ceiling: this solution is ideal for lighting porches and porticoes. When combined with 16° optics on the lower beam, the same optics make it possible to illuminate the ceiling while simultaneously emphasizing architectural elements such as pilasters and columns.

If the fixture needs to be installed on irregular surfaces such as stone walls, a spacer can be purchased at the time of ordering that facilitates positioning. The spacer, available in the same finishes as the lighting fixture, can also be used to enable the light output to reach beyond any protruding architectural elements, such as cornices and string-courses.

As well as the classic white, anthracite and cor-ten finishes, and the option to request a customized RAL finish, METOPE is also available with a primer coating, so that the fixture’s surface can be finished in the same paint as the wall it’s attached to. This alternative enables the device to blend as fully as possible into its surroundings, allowing its light output to take centre stage.

In the medium and large versions, METOPE is available with either a 24Vdc power supply or a built-in 230Vac power supply. METOPE 3 offers the further option of DALI-2 control. This product is at home in any outdoor environment, even the harshest ones: its body, in low-copper-content die-cast aluminium alloy EN AB 46100, offers excellent corrosion resistance; likewise, its 3-mm-thick transparent extra-clear glass is tempered for excellent resistance to knocks and scratches. The fixture also features an IP65 ingress protection rating, which guarantees complete protection against the ingress of dust, sand and water jets.
