NOMAD CAPRI – 6-9 July, Certosa di San Giacomo
The Italian custom lighting manufacturers Luce5, and Carwan Gallery, a leading international gallery specialising in collectable design, have joined forces to push the boundaries of contemporary lighting design through the creation of a new line of collectable lighting objects.
Carwan Gallery has commissioned five talented international designers: Campbell-Rey, India Mahdavi, Linde Freya Tangelder, Objects of Common Interest and Roberto Sironi, to create new lighting objects that challenge and push the boundaries of materials and technology. This unique and challenging opportunity was made possible by harnessing Luce5’s vast experience, profound know-how and constant commitment and investment in research.
This challenging and articulate collaboration was presented at the third edition of Nomad, a prestigious exhibition dedicated to collectable design and contemporary art. The event took place on the beautiful island of Capri from 6 to 9 July 2023. Each designer was given full artistic freedom to conceive and bring to life one or more lighting objects, drawing inspiration from their ongoing research and artistic endeavours, the artists were also encouraged to experiment and imagine bold and innovative concepts that could be translated into functional design objects.
