Cup, the new collection by Francesconi Architectural Light
Exhibited with pride and a pinch of emotion in Frankfurt during Light+Building 2024, the Cup collection, the latest addition to the Francesconi Architectural Light family, is now in the catalogue. Conceived and designed by the designer Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà in collaboration with the technical department of the Italian Brescia-based company, the new Cup collection results from intense working months in terms of design and engineering.
It includes bollards, poles and wall lamps: not the classic bollard, but a versatile passe-partout characterized by optical engines and different powers, suitable for housing on several types of supports, while the wall lamp – essential and light – easily adapts to wall installations, also in urban areas, but not only. The light beam direction can be 360° and, in the bollard and pole versions, even 160°. All solutions respond to a precise need to find a synthesis between form and function for architectural projects. The minimal design of Cup and the absence of visible screws distinguishes the collection, making it appear as a sort of luminous body where the details blend.
The LED board has been intentionally designed – as the PMMA lens – to achieve a dual objective: to make the design recognizable and to guarantee unique lighting performance. Therefore, the collection stands out for its essential lines and high-quality materials, with low environmental impact and recyclability at 85% of the total used material. With an extra-clear tempered glass diffuser, the lens ensures total illuminance uniformity on the ground with no shadows and a luminous efficiency of 80 lm/watt, a standard in line with the most stringent energy efficiency requirements. Its application flexibility makes it a very versatile product, able to integrate perfectly into the environment where it is, thanks to its elegant shapes and refined, graceful finishes, such as anthracite and aluminium grey.
Cup is particularly suitable for private and public outdoor contexts, thanks to the IK10 resistance degree for maximum resistance to impacts and the IP66 protection system that protects the lighting fixtures from water and dust infiltration, as well as compatibility with the operating temperature between -20°C and +50°C.
Cup is not a temporary emotion but a range of structured and reliable applications in any installation context.
