Gemma and Genesi, two new collections to project AlbaComponents into 2024

26 January 2024

Throughout 2023, the Treviso-based brand AlbaComponents presented a series of significant innovations, among which stand out two new collections of seats, the result of the constant commitment by the company’s R&D department in collaboration with talented and established Italian designers

The first proposal is Gemma: designed by Stefano Bettio, it is a versatile collection of seats with a single-shell in technopolymer, mainly suitable for congress and contract environments, but not limited to those. The single-shell rests on a wide selection of frames and bases, giving Gemma great usability, making it suitable for diverse environments and spaces such as offices, coworking areas, communities, educational settings, and home offices. Gemma’s design is fresh and essential, characterized by strong lines on the technopolymer surface of the single-shell and a particular aesthetic solution that makes the backrest and seat seem like two distinct elements.

The presence of a wide choice among frames and bases allows configuring the seat in different versions: from the 4-leg (EN 16139:2013+AC2013 Level 1 certified) to the sled, including the swivel version or the 4-spoke version on wheels, up to stool and bench solutions. A focus is given to the Conference frame version, distinguished by its high stacking features allowing stable and perfectly vertical chair stacking, ensuring optimal and effective space management. Enhancing Gemma’s range are numerous accessories, including armrests, tablet holders, and upholsterable panels for the seat, along with a selection of refined and current colors. The proposed colors for the collection include 6 different shades: the classic ivory, black, and gray, and the natural green, yellow, and red. These colors are available for both the single-shells, the under-seat covers, and the armrests, as well as the frames, with the addition of a chrome finish. This exponentially expands the variety of available combinations, aiming to meet and satisfy the needs and tastes of a diverse audience.

Parallel to Gemma was the presentation of Genesi, the new collection designed by Emanuele Bertolini, ideal for office, conference, and community environments, developed as an integrated seating system focusing on completeness and versatility of use. Genesi offers dozens of combinations between backrest and seat shells, frames, bases, and accessories, characterized by an ergonomic design amplifying the product’s comfort and practicality. Genesi possesses interesting functional features, such as the total absence of screws, which are in fact unnecessary for its assembly. The collection offers various finishing options and materials for seats and backrests, ranging from visible plastic, available in four colors: black, white, gray, and blue, to the possibility of upholstering both the seat and the backrest. The latter can also be chosen in the mesh version, providing further customization alternatives and increased comfort.

The range of frames and bases offers the classic 4-leg and cantilever, as well as a swivel base on wheels and the bench version; 4 variants that truly ensure great practicality, intended to meet the most diverse usage needs. The accessories range includes primarily the plastic armrest, also easily installable without the use of screws, perfectly integrated into the backrest and seat shells, available in the 4 colors of the collection, to which a functional tablet holder can be added. An additional practical accessory is the set of side hooks that securely connect the chairs when placed side by side, while for the 4-leg frame, special high glides and a set of castor wheels are available, along with a practical bag tray, ideal as a usage solution in educational settings. In the Genesis collection, design and functionality go hand in hand with safety and innovation, boasting the use of a technical solution patented in the process of obtaining Ansi-Bifma and EN 16139:2013-L2 safety certifications.

2023 has proven to be a year of significant progress for AlbaComponents, with the introduction of the new Gemma and Genesi collections, but also Lemon and Xylo. Looking ahead to 2024, AlbaComponents aims to continue the development path of its product range, also reinforcing a corporate identity that is constantly growing, also thanks to the new showroom and the upcoming launch of the new general catalog.
