The new ELK family characterizes the range of Francesconi solutions for its innovative design and the use of structural materials such as concrete. Devised by the designer Giorgio Biscaro, the series consists of a single-emission bollard LED version (one of 800mm and one of 300mm) and a double-emission wall-mounted LED version. Ideal for installations in public places, green areas, and for the lighting of medium-width cycle-pedestrian paths, the series is totally resistant to corrosive phenomena typical of certain external installation contexts. The total absence of glare and compliance with the limits set by current regulations regarding light pollution are key selling points of the ELK series. A whole series of sophisticated technical solutions has enabled us to come up with a Class 2 lighting product in a totally concealed fixing system, which traces the silhouette of the bollard design. ELK, both in its form and materials, is a new design solution in which the design, extremely high mechanical performance, and durable characteristics of the materials used combine to create a project of absolute originality.
Designer Giorgio Biscaro explains: “It is a highly symbolic project. The shape glimpsed on the front facade suggestively evokes Nordic runes, and the use of concrete brings the product closer to an ancient monolithic object. A design with a very natural but at the same time formally artificial inspiration, as evidenced by the soft radii, almost hollowed out by the elements that counterbalance a rigid construction with clear-cut edges”.
