Palazzo Bertarelli, one of the most fascinating expressions of late Art Nouveau in Milan and the historic headquarters of the Italian Touring Club, is now “Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Touring Club Milan“, a 5-star hotel that is a reference point for advanced tourism, in constant dialogue with the city. The architectural and interior design intervention conducted by Studio Marco Piva found inspiration in the journey concept in three areas of intervention: the recovery of the monumental façade, the rooms’ re-functionalization and a design with great attention to detail. Fluid, dynamic, continuous and borderless spaces can create an osmotic connection between inside and outside. The rooms of the eclectic building take on a new connotation thanks to the precise selection of materials and the choice of new technologies.
It is precisely in this historical context – but sensitive to the needs of a constantly evolving society – that the Vimar devices of the exclusive Eikon Evo series are in. The meticulous attention to detail evokes what are, in the common imagination, elements related to travel, such as the circle, which recalls the idea of the globe and is present in a recurring way in the decorative lighting, the use of leather for all the headboards, which refers to the configuration of the seats in the train carriages, while material inserts and furnishing details such as the Eikon Evo series refer to the iconography of the suitcase. Designed to look good, with dimensions that stand out delicately on the walls, thanks to its ultra-thin profiles, unusual colours and combinations, the Eikon Evo series enhances buttons and controls with a total look frame that emphasizes its value. The installed devices are visible and arranged in an orderly shape in every hotel area: on the elegant leather bed headboards, on the marble panelling of the bathrooms, and in all the common areas. A perfect synthesis of technological precision and craftsmanship, available in different materials and prestigious finishes, from stone to crystal, from leather to metal, up to Corian, Eikon Evo is a plate that integrates perfectly into spaces, creating an original soul with unique style details, through personalized symbols and laser-engraved logos for tailor-made projects.
Aimed at business and leisure travellers, the 89 elegantly modern rooms and suites feature high ceilings and smoked oak floors laid in a herringbone pattern.
The space, which previously housed the historic bookshop of the Italian Touring Club, is transformed into the Bistrot Bertarelli 1894 Milano, a multifunctional environment used as a lounge bar, breakfast room, bookshop and travel agency, where the use of dark wood embellished with metal inserts prevails: a true book boutique, a place to explore with the aim of a culinary and cultural journey. Finally, the wellness area in the basement, with a small gym and a SPA, is in an environment wrapped in natural wood tones that welcomes guests in a relaxing atmosphere.
“Living the present by preserving the past, planning the future. That is the perspective process of enhancing Palazzo Bertarelli, to accompany its elegant and sophisticated soul to travel into the twenty-first century.” Marco Piva explains.
