Designed and conceived by Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide, Discovery is an element that does not invade the environment acquiring volume when on, thanks to the light drawing on the surfaces

The given effect is a uniform light, ideal for all spaces, especially work environments. When the luminaire is on, the transparent inner part seems to fill with light as if, by magic, the absence turns into a perfectly diffusing emission surface. A peculiar result obtained thanks to Discovery’s direct and indirect emissions producing enveloping and uniform light. In 2018 Discovery was awarded the “Compasso D’Oro”, for its capability to interpret research, technological and material innovation, know-how and attention to the quality of light for human well-being.

Discovery is controllable by the Artemide App, an advanced interaction system that ensures everyone is increasingly free to actively and consciously modify their own scenario in favour of personal well-being and the design of dynamic and engaging spaces less to follow our circadian cycles. Discovery Terra was born from the desire to reach for the essentials. The technological innovation applied to the emitting surface enclosed by a black frame becomes the only element that makes up this floor lamp. The dimensions are reproportioned compared to the suspension versions, so they can perfectly fit into any environment by leaning against the walls in an inclined position.

Discovery Space breaks with the classic schemes and preconceptions that see a clear division between design appliances and the more technical performance of office systems. Introducing colour also opens up new applications and scenarios increasingly aimed at well-being and emotions.

The Discovery Space Square and Rectangular versions become Discovery Spot with the inclusion of the Vector Spot projector, designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua, which fits into a circular hole recreated in the emission surface to allow for different orientations.
