Here are the results of the 5th edition!
Last September, in the Hall of Honor of the Triennale Milano, the Final of the fifth edition of the IDEASxWOOD Contest, dedicated to the knowledge and application of wood in design and architecture projects, ended. Among the audience, made up of architects, designers, journalists, there were also the institutions: Alessandro Fermi (University Councillor, Research, Innovation for the Regione Lombardia), the former Minister Roberto Castelli (former President of Autostrada Pedemontana Lombarda, previously Minister of Justice and Infrastructure during the Berlusconi government), Alice Galbiati (Cantù Mayor), and Giuseppe Molteni (Cantù Deputy Mayor), Claudio Feltrin (FederlegnoArredo President), Gabriele Meroni (FederlegnoArredo General Manager), Antonella Andriani (Association for Industrial Design Vice-President) and Andrès Ortolano (FSC Italia Technical Manager for the Catena di Custodia).
Over 500 projects coming from students and professionals worldwide. A genuine mix of influences and ideas marked this edition. Arch. Silvia Piardi, Honorary Professor at Politecnico di Milano, led the Jury. The Contest focused on the design of the latest-generation wooden surfaces, born from dyeing technology (multilaminar veneers, inlays, wooden bas-reliefs, boiserie and floors). Thanks to the partnership with Carpanelli, an Italian centuries-old company from Desio, there is a large section dedicated to furniture design in the competition.
Also, they are partners with Roda For You and the architecture magazine IQD Magazine.
