Inspired by the function of the jam cleats in sailing boats, Cima a “suspended” lamp by Marco Dessí is made of four elements: a ceiling-to-floor rope (4000 mm), a joint that runs along the rope, a body lamp and a counterweight.
Cima is a sleek and highly functional lamp. The reference to the cylindrical shape of the various components defines the fil rouge of the formal line of the product. The rope is the most characterizing element which three finishes (gold, yellow and silver) make it suitable to any interiors and décor mood. The black joint made of injection-moulded polymer enables the lighting source to move along the rope, allowing for multiple configurations.
The vertical and rotating movement of the lamp body, prepared for the use of commercial light bulbs, gives great flexibility of the luminous flux. The black material finish gives a sophisticated aesthetic that contrasts with the technological aspect of the rope and amazes for the unusual but balanced contrasts. To complete the set the counterweight, which enables to readjust any excess of rope for lower ceilings. The switch button is placed on the power cord for easy use.
