The only Italian in the final, the young designer relied on Bugnion for Industrial and Intellectual Property
Designer Marco Bozzola in the Small and Emerging Companies category won the prestigious DesignEuropa Awards, held on October 19th in Eindhoven, in concomitance with the Design Week. Bugnion, a leading consulting company in Europe in Industrial and Intellectual Property (IP), and the first in Italy for the number of European patent deposits, has followed him throughout the path of protection and exploitation of Industrial and Intellectual Property.
The Italian designer got the nomination first, and this prestigious award then, thanks to the realization of Relio² professional lighting system, true Italian excellence in technological innovation. Portable, transformable and modular, this system of professional lamps designed to emit a sun-comparable light, in terms of sharpness, intensity and colour rendering, is manufactured and assembled by hand in Italy and used above all in the artistic, academic and scientific fields. The patented multi-unit editing system that can change in shape adapts to several uses, ranging from movies to visual arts, training and scientific research.
Relio² is particularly suitable for those working with colours and needing a calibrated, modular light similar to the one of the Sun. It allows different configurations; as a table lamp, a lab illuminator, a cinematographic lighting system, a ceiling or shelf lamp, or as a portable and miniaturized lighting set. Relio² accessories and spare parts can be 3D printed at home, and it is also possible to download Relio² original 3D models for free. The Relio² project has been selected among eight design finalists of the Awards, 4 in the Industrial category and 4 in the Small and Emerging Enterprises category, representing the best in European industrial and product design.
For the IP related aspects, Bozzola relied on Bugnion, which with the expertise of its professionals, accompanied him in all phases, with a 360-degree consultancy on patents, trademarks, design and legal aspects. The patent, created and granted thanks to Bugnion’s support in Italy and Europe, will soon be nationalized in several countries of the Union, and the product is already on sale on the international market.
“Starting by myself and being able to create from scratch an innovative and revolutionary product in so many ways is a reason of great satisfaction for me. Seeing an idea come true, first with its prototyping and then with the actual realization after so much effort, is the biggest prize. This recognition is a further confirmation for a project being the result of all my love and passion. I am pleased that Bugnion has been at my side to accompany me throughout the process of Industrial Property until I came to this success. I had the intuition to invest and rely on specialists in Industrial and Intellectual Property, and I would do it again”, says Marco Bozzola.
