Artemide at Dubai Design Week 2021

28 November 2021

This year, Artemide participated in the Dubai Design Week with a completely renovated showroom in the D3, a site-specific installation at the entrance of Downtown Design Dubai, and at a booth at Cityscape, in partnership with KEO, within the Expo 2020. Artemide has a steady, consolidated presence in Dubai with a showroom and an office that are skill hubs and reference points for architects and lighting designers in the area. On the occasion of the Dubai Design Week 2021 edition, Artemide opened its completely renovated showroom in the city’s Design District, in building 6 A307. There, visitors could see the latest collections, the results of applicated innovative technology and the partnerships with major international architectural firms. The showroom is a place to experience the interaction between the light and the new intelligent management system: the Artemide App.

From the 8th to the 12th of November, Artemide was the protagonist at the entrance of the Downtown Design Dubai fair with Thru, a multi-sensory interactive installation designed by Dubai-based architecture and interior design practice Niu Studio. Artemide’s light designs guided the visitor towards the entrance, creating a space in which they could engage with nature. Thru is a scenographic and sustainable light installation in which innovative technologies translate into emotions, beauty and occasions for interaction. Artemide’s Integralis allows to re-start living common areas thanks to its innovative technology; and Discovery is the protagonist of an optical graphics experience area: the suspension lamps, designed by Artemide’s founder Ernesto Gismondi, are the perfect expression of the company’s values and expertise, and, with the Integralis technology, help create a safe space.

On Tuesday 9 November, Thru was also the stage of a talk with its creators. Artemide’s President and CEO Carlotta de Bevilacqua joined in a conversation with Niu Studio’s architects Giorgio Palermo and Elena Gregorutti and Fantini Mosaici’s Managing Director Lorenzo Lotesto to discuss sustainability, innovation, and the rediscovery of the relationship between people and space.
