The versatile, lightweight metal and technopolymer leg for the Tipper table collection
In the latest edition of Interzum, the leading trade fair for the subcontracting sector within the furniture and interior design industry, AlbaComponents unveiled a large selection of innovative new products. This included Duo, the new leg which further enhances their Tipper collection of tables with folding tops — one of the best sellers for the company headquartered in the province of Treviso.
Developed in partnership with the designer Stefano Bettio and Albacomponents’ R&D team, Duo joins Pro and Classic, the two models of leg already available for Tipper. Duo features essential, compact styling, comes in two sizes, and is available in the collection’s classic colours: white, black, grey and chromed. The leg is created in two distinct sections — one in technopolymer, the other in metal — which combine to enhance the characteristics of the two materials, creating a product which is both lightweight and durable. Plus, as Duo is composed of two sections which are then assembled, it’s easy to ship, as pack size is reduced, in particular when packaged industrially. Just like the Pro and Classic legs, Duo is fitted with a braked castor to assure excellent manoeuvrability and versatility, making Tipper a perfect furnishing element for private studies and home offices.
The new Duo leg is perfectly aligned with the central logic of the Tipper tables, whose tilting tops and outstanding functionality make them an extremely versatile furnishing solution. In fact, the Tipper tops can be tilted by using the practical mechanism operated by means of an easy-to-use handle. Once tilted, the tables can be nested horizontally, guaranteeing maximum flexibility in the usage of space: it’s ideal for meeting rooms, educational or co-working environments. Indeed, Tipper becomes the perfect ally for any setting which requires frequent changes to furniture layouts. Groups of tables can be arranged to meet specific needs, for instance for teaching or holding debates. Rearranging the tables is made even easier thanks to the handy top linking hooks, one of the accessories available for the Tipper collection.
Tipper and its selection of legs offer an attractive, practical design in terms of aesthetics, but also this is a collection that leaves nothing to chance from a purely functional and safety standpoint. Tipper tables feature a patented technology, and thanks to their ANSI/BIFMA certification, coupled with the technopolymer cover that conceals all moving parts in the tilt mechanism, the whole collection guarantees top-notch standards of durability and safety.
But Duo isn’t Albacomponents’ only new product release for 2023: the company also showcased a number of other collections at Interzum. Genesi, a flexible seating system that prioritises versatility of use and comes in numerous possible combinations of frame, seat, backrest and accessories. Ideally suited to office, conference and community settings, Genesi stands out for its ergonomic design and intelligent design features, such as the total absence of screws. Gemma, a collection of technopolymer single-piece shell seats which are superbly stackable. The clean, essential styling of the single-piece shell makes Gemma the ideal solution for furnishing conference and meeting rooms. Then there’s Lemon, which has been created in particular for outdoor settings. The refined, functional design of both the seat and stool versions features a distinctive shell with five technopolymer slats attached to the frame without any visible screws. Lemon chairs are available in 6 colours and the collection also includes a vast range of tables. Finally, there’s Xylo, the new line of chairs featuring an ash or oak shell mounted onto a large variety of metal bases. Xylo is also available in a stool version with dedicated shell and low backrest which fits seamlessly into any setting.
