The sixteenth edition of Bricoday, the pivotal event for operators in the DIY-related worlds, technical and outdoor products, has ended. Great satisfaction on the part of exhibitors and visitors for an event that continues its growth, a gradual but constant development for over a decade. 412 exhibitors (+6% compared to 2023), just over 9,000 attendees, participation in line with last year (there were 8,900), despite the inconvenience caused on the first day by a breakdown on the railway network that stopped trains in half of Italy. Highly qualified participation, with a very high percentage of purchasing decision-makers: from the surveys of accesses as well as from the comments collected among exhibitors, further growth of buyers in DIY distribution emerges and an expansion towards adjacent sectors: on the one hand, home sector and generalist large-scale distribution, on the other hardware and distributors of technical items. Among visitors, the percentage of qualified buyers reached 40%.
The home, in all its forms and environments, remains the focus of the exhibition: bathroom, arrangement, wood, furniture, household items, and objects are the main sectors represented, to which must naturally be added Bricoday Luce, the area dedicated to the world of lighting which, now in its fourth edition, is once again sold out. The outdoor world is growing, as are the DIY and technical sectors, which are particularly active this year. The specialized large-scale distribution, with multiple DIY stands and home brands, also showed great participation.
Much appreciation also for the Bricoday Digital Village, which this year occupied a portion of Hall 3 and hosted 40 companies compared to 25 in the last edition (+60%). Exhibitors and visitors expressed their satisfaction with the event that offered a complete overview of the phygital retail sector: payments and fintech, marketing, data and management, e-commerce and marketplaces, retail tech/digital stores, consulting and agencies, logistics and supply chain. Digital Village was accompanied by an extensive conference program, corporate speeches in the specially set up theatre, and a highly appreciated networking program with one-to-one meetings.
2024 marks the end of the historical Bricoday location inside the pavilions of MiCo Fieramilanocity, where the last 13 editions have been held and where the event has ‘grown up’, going from 60 exhibitors in 2011 to over 400 in 2024. Today the Fieramilanocity structure has become inadequate for the size of the event, in terms of services and logistics for exhibitors and visitors. Furthermore, for some years now, the growth of the exhibition and collateral events, has been blocked by the lack of space. 2025 will mark a new beginning for Bricoday, which will move to the Fiera Milano exhibition centre in Rho, the largest in Italy, one of the largest in Europe, occupying halls 22 and 24.
On 24 and 25 September 2025, it will be a renewed and surprising edition of Bricoday.
