Green Pea is the first Retail Park in the world dedicated to the theme of respect. It opens in Turin on 9 December 2020: 15,000 m² of products that are sustainable and respectful of the Earth, Air, Water and People. Artemide, the “Human&Responsible Light” company, illuminates the five floors of the building in addition to being present with its own retail space on the first floor, dedicated to products for the Home.
The whole Artemide collection is an expression of a responsible, informed approach to design. Artemide is committed to ongoing research in order to develop lighting systems that pursue the goal of maximum energy efficiency. Focus is on the materials and production processes but the sustainable approach does not end in the product: over time it generates a positive impact on the energy balance of the spaces it illuminates. Artemide holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification, and has for many years been committed to working in line with the values of environmental and social sustainability. It has signed up to the United Nations Global Compact and transparently testifies its objectives and results in the Sustainability Report.

Artemide lighting is therefore the perfect choice for this “From duty to beauty” project. A cluster of 28 Discovery lamps, specially made in the custom size of 190cm, welcomes the visitor in the full-height space that connects the five floors. Discovery, a project by Ernesto Gismondi, the founder of Artemide, is the perfect synthesis of the company’s values and innovation that translates into the emotion of perception. The transparent surface comes to life with a white or coloured light, green in honour of Green Pea, for a spectacular solution, which can also be glimpsed from the outside through the façade.
The Artemide light then extends into the different spaces to follow the visitor’s experience, alternating between more minimal and functional product solutions and spectacular elements, while always maintaining the highest professional light quality. The Artemide lighting project follows the interior and exterior spaces with products that are the result of the collaboration with the major international architects who express choices that are attentive to the limited resources of our planet: BiG with Alphabet of Light, Ripple and Gople, or Elemental by Alejandro Aravena with O, to name just a few.
Today Artemide not only deals with lighting products but also with intelligent management systems for large projects such as Green Pea but also for every single end-user. That’s why we’ve designed the Artemide app, an intuitive management system that gives each user freedom and responsibility for their own daily lighting systems. Artemide is increasingly more explicit in setting out its approach to the future: an approach to design guided by values, driven not only by scientific research and technological and production know-how, but also by a humanistic, ethical approach.
