From 8 to 10 November, for the first time, Salone del Mobile has been partnering at the prestigious Asian art fair West Bund Art & Design. In the setting of The Orbit – a building designed by Heatherwick Studio in Shanghai – has been presented The Orbit’s Orbit, a performative installation dedicated to Italian design signed by Italian artist Matilde Cassani. The installation was dialoguing with more than 50 icons of Made in Italy protagonists of a radial city animated by visitors’ interactions, unprecedented performances and a cycle of conversations on design.

Martinelli Luce has been attending the installation with its Pipistrello and Cobra lamps, two icons that have marked the company’s history – designed respectively by Gae Aulenti and Elio Martinelli in the 1960s. In particular, the Pipistrello lamp was presented in three sizes, classic, medium and mini, and in different colours, while Cobra in red and black.
