Signify introduces the new smart lamp that, thanks to ColorCast technology and efficient features, transforms the way we wake up and fall asleep

With the recent change of seasons, many people struggle to adapt to the new rhythms. It can negatively affect the sleep-wake cycle, generating fatigue, irritability, and a sense of malaise. Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) – one of the world’s leading brands in the lighting world – introduces the new Philips Hue Twilight lamp, designed to make this change in habits less stressful, with features that optimize night’s rest and make waking up a natural, gradual and pleasant experience. The heart of Philips Hue Twilight is ColorCast technology, a unique innovation in smart lighting. The backlight of Philips Hue Twilight, which also has a front light, boasts this technology, which – using precisely overlapping LEDs – illuminates large areas with a mixture of wonderfully rich and uniform colours to decorate the home walls whenever wanted and to replicate the natural light cycle of sunrise and sunset.

A transition that simulates the rising and setting of the sun: the lamp can smoothly adjust the brightness and hues from a gently illuminating light that encourages the body and mind to wake up better rested and charged to warm, reddish hues to help prepare the body for restful sleep. Many scientific studies show that daylight – particularly natural light – beneficially affects our mood and energy, helping to counteract the symptoms of seasonal depression and improve productivity. ColorCast technology emits warm, enveloping lights to promote perfect sleep but also excludes short wavelengths of blue light, which can interfere with the production of melatonin – the sleep hormone  – that allows us to support our body’s natural circadian rhythm to recover energy during the night and face the next day with vitality.

As winter approaches, our circadian rhythms can significantly disrupt, affecting sleep quality and overall well-being. Philips Hue Twilight counteracts these effects with its innovative ColorCast technology, which faithfully reproduces the natural light cycle of sunrise and sunset. It facilitates a gradual and natural awakening and suppresses the negative impact of blue light, which can interfere with the release of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Twilight represents a practical, effective and design solution to improve the quality of rest and promote an energetic awakening,” comments Luisa Bonadeo, Head of Marketing Consumer at Signify Italia.

Philips Hue Twilight offers a highly customizable experience thanks to its two individually controllable light sources (one on the front and the gradient source with ColorCast on the back) and ultra-low dimmability.  The front light rotates left and right so you can tilt it exactly where you need it, allowing you to position it perfectly for reading before bed, for example. The two buttons on the top activate instant control, even without any app. By default, the top button that controls the light toggles between six scenes has been designed for Twilight, while the hue button activates automation. The ultra-low dimmability allows you to reduce the intensity of the light much more than you can with most lamps on the market for a gentle awakening and perfect night light.

In addition to being highly functional and designed to improve the sleep-wake cycle, with its compact and modern black and white design and cork base, Philips Hue Twilight is the bedside lamp that can be perfectly integrated into any home and with the Philips Hue system. Users can employ the Philips Hue app to create customized routines that fit perfectly into their rhythms of life and set specific times for waking up and bedtime, choosing from various light scenes. Twilight adapts perfectly to every need, whether to create a cosy atmosphere for our evening reading or to accompany meditation before bedtime.

Philips Hue has integrated into the system the possibility of choosing six new preconfigured solar-themed scenes (present as default in Twilight!) designed to support your circadian rhythm, giving you the proper quantity of light from night to waking up. Through a simple touch, the Go To Sleep function allows the user to actuate scenes excluding the blue light spectrum. When this feature is activated, the room lights take on warm, soothing tones, changing to reddish-orange tones that promote a serene and peaceful environment. Lights gradually dim until they go out, making it easier to fall asleep and ensuring a restful sleep.

In conclusion, Philips Hue Twilight is more than just a lamp; it is a smart lighting system that promotes well-being, improves sleep quality and makes awakenings a moment of joy and vitality.
