Catas at Interzum Forum Italy

30 October 2024

Catas participated in the first edition of Interzum Forum Italy, the new biennial “conference exhibition” dedicated to the world of subcontracting and contracting which took place at the Bergamo fair in June

An exhibition which was surrounded by events, meetings and talk shows which also saw among the protagonists the most important European laboratory for testing in the wood furniture supply chain, which offered participants its experience and expertise in terms of sustainability and increasingly stringent European regulations.

A double date

The first on the calendar, as part of the “Trend Stages”, when the director of Catas Franco Bulian addressed the topic “Environmental product certification: the demands of the Italian and international markets”.

The following day it was Matilde Ceschia who spoke.  The contact person for issues related to LCA-Life Cycle Assessment of Catas proposed an interesting contribution entitled “Towards a circular economy: from the Ecodesign Directive to the Electronic Product Passport (DPP)”.

Our participation in the Bergamo event was a new opportunity for us to put ourselves at the service of businesses”, commented Franco Bulian. “Never before have companies been involved in profound and challenging changes on the environmental front as in this period, starting from the European directive on Green Claims, which aims to combat greenwashing and counter the proliferation of environmental labels that are not supported by objective data. Added to this is the possibility that Catas offers of being able to scientifically measure its sustainability, thanks to the international LCA-Life Cycle Assessment protocol. A preparatory choice for a possible EPD-Environmental Product Declaration certification, as well as a way to detect and intervene on the actual consumption – in terms of both energy and resources – that a company must face for any production cycle”.
