Davide Groppi has been honoured with two recognitions at the XXVIII edition of the Compasso d’Oro ADI 2024 during the ceremony on 20 June 2024 at the ADI Design Museum in Milan. The Compasso d’Oro ADI Award, established in 1954, is the most distinguished design recognition for projects, products and research, that highlights the creativity and quality of Made in Italy.
ANIMA wins the Compasso d’Oro ADI Award.
Designers: Davide Groppi and Giorgio Rava, 2021, production Davide Groppi
ANIMA is the emotion of an indirect light. A weightless ideogram, a slender and ephemeral sculpture, that represents the urge to make objects with very few things. A stem and a base.
The international jury awarded ANIMA with the following reasons: “The reduction of the thicknesses and the material used is combined with an idea of expressiveness capable of satisfying genuine requests for coming into contact with the transcendental nature of a public that is increasingly bombarded by trivializing messages.”
FM obtains the Mention of Honour Compasso d’Oro ADI.
Designer: Davide Groppi, 2022, production Davide Groppi
FM is an antenna of light that expresses, with its essentialness, nothing more than its function. A performing, adjustable and extremely comfortable light.
The new ADI award and mention enrich the list of Compasso d’Oro ADI won, in previous years, by the NULLA and SAMPEI products awarded in 2014, and the Mention of Honour ADI won by the iconic TeTaTeT battery-powered table lamp in 2016.
