In Rome, in the central Trevi district, one hundred meters from the Trevi Fountain and the Quirinale, UMILTA’ 36 Luxury Hotel offers its Guests the warm atmosphere of Roman “salotti”, where hospitality is an absolute value and refers to the timeless charm of the Dolce Vita, made of elegance and lightness in refined and timeless environments revisited in a contemporary key, keeping a perfect balance between decoration and minimalism.
UMILTA’ 36 is a 5-star luxury hotel designed for an international and cosmopolitan clientele and is part of the SHEDIR Collection chain, which manages other hotel facilities in Rome and Capri. The client chose the Valtellinese interior contractor Concreta based in Postalesio to furnish the 47 units spread over four floors including rooms and suites and two floors of large-sized apartments, all different from each other. The works began in the summer of 2019 and today the hotel reopens to the public in a new guise, thanks to an important architectural, engineering and interior design intervention that has maintained and enhanced all of its historicity. The direction of the works was entrusted to the CaberlonCaroppi studio, which created the concept, designed the interiors and assisted with the structural interventions, proposing a return to the original project of the building, emphasizing the heights and restoring the double height of the floor, which over the years, through the various uses, had been lowered into a mezzanine floor.
The important structural intervention has also given great prominence to the hall and restored importance to the majestic marble staircase that leads to the floors of the rooms and apartments. In particular, the 29 hotel rooms are distributed on the main floors of the building, first and second floor, while 18 apartments have been created on the remaining two levels, consisting of a living room with kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. They are all equipped with every comfort; bathrooms are covered with precious marbles and large walk-in closets, parquet or carpeted floors and ceilings are emphasized by the clever use of wooden boiseries.
The suites and apartments include a separate living room from the bedroom and have a kitchenette area, ideal for long stays. Concreta’s intervention in the project for this hotel involved the creation of complete furnishings for the rooms, suites and apartments and all the common areas, with the supply of beds, wainscoting, wardrobes, kitchens, bookcases and bathroom furniture (excluding curtains, lamps and floors) using only quality materials and components, and chosing warm colours, in harmony with the project concept.
