A journey back in time with Vimar technology and style
We are in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. And, more precisely, in Chiasso del Buco, a narrow medieval alley, in this silent street, in the most intimate heart of the city, stands Relais Uffizi: an elegant and peaceful Hotel overflowing with art and history, built where the tower houses of the noble families of the Tuscan capital once stood. The relais, housed in a carefully restored sixteenth-century building, is characterized by a modern concept which nevertheless maintains traces of a prestigious past. This structure, where every aspect has been taken care of down to the smallest detail, is provided with the hotel management system on the KNX Well-contact Plus standard by Vimar. The highly-performing automation system allows energy consumption optimization and, at the same time, controls the different environments.
For example, the lighting of all hotel areas can be controlled and managed from a single point, the reception. Here, through the user-friendly interfaces of the Well-contact Suite software, the staff can set the comfort of the rooms directly from the computer. Without moving from the station, it is possible to check if the lights are still on, if the climate is appropriate, if there are unauthorized accesses or if any alarms are triggered. Access to the system via different profiles then allows differentiated control of the rooms: for instance, the hotel manager can supervise the rooms, modify temperature and lighting parameters and program several functions, while the receptionists or floor staff, with a different profile, can access only part of these. Along the elegant corridors, the transponder readers positioned outside the rooms are visible to bring the card close, open the electric lock and turn on the courtesy lights.
Complementary to these, inside each room, are the card readers with vertical pockets to activate all the room functions when the guest enters the room. Light on the room walls, touch thermostats to personalize temperature and sockets of different types and standards – i.e., for razors in the bathroom or USB ones by the bedside – that allow to power portable devices of the international clients.
