32nd LIGHT International Trade Show 2025 brings foreign lighting brands to Poland

19 December 2024

It will take place in Warsaw, on 12-14 March 2025

Poland, one of the fastest developing economies in Europe, may become an increasingly important market for European lighting brands. This is confirmed not only by the prospective growth of the Polish construction industry, which benefits lighting manufacturers, but also the presence of companies from all over Europe at the most important industry events in Poland. The LIGHT International Trade Show 2025, which will take place in Warsaw, Poland’s capital, on 12-14 March 2025, is a key industry event in Central and Eastern Europe and attracts companies from countries such as the UK, Germany and Italy, that wish to strengthen their position on one of the more rapidly developing EU markets and establish international business relationships.

What’s bringing European lighting companies to the Vistula?

Its stable economy and large internal market make Poland a very attractive target for expansion among foreign companies. What’s more, the European Commission has approved the release of funds from the National Recovery Plan, under which Poland received over PLN 340 billion (EUR 76 billion) in accordance with the cohesion policy for the years 2021-2027. That’s the largest cohesion policy budget among EU countries. The funds were divided up among national and regional programmes.

The Polish economy slowed in 2023, but it is expected to make a strong recovery in 2024 and 2025.

“With over 38 million residents, Poland will be one of the largest markets in Europe in the coming years,” says Marek Orłowski, commisioner of the LIGHT International Trade Show 2025, which every year brings together manufacturers, distributors and customers from across the entire region.

Forecasts indicate that construction manufacturing in Poland in 2024 is due to grow by 5.6% in comparison with 2023, reaching PLN 291.8 billion. Residential and commercial buildings, road expansions – all of these investments require modern lighting systems.

Modern lighting systems are increasingly in demand also due to the intensive development of sustainable and energy efficient construction. Technologically advanced, energy-saving lighting systems are both an important part of the offerings presented by European companies at the LIGHT Trade Show as well as a topic of discussion in the event’s accompanying expert panels and debates. In 2025, the discussion panels held at the 32nd LIGHT International Trade Show will be participated in by international experts, e.g. Roger Narboni, a French designer who introduced the concept of “Light Urbanism”, and Niko Gentile, a senior lecturer at Lund University and author of the book “Daylight and Lighting Under Nordic Sky”.

“When speaking with the European manufacturers, distributors and customers promoting their products at the LIGHT Trade Show, looking for innovative solutions and key business contacts, we hear how important our region is to them as a direction for expansion. Direct foreign investment is growing in Poland along with investments in infrastructure, the construction sector is growing, and sustainable development and the energy efficiency of buildings are becoming more important. Attending the LIGHT International Trade Show, which for years have been a leading event in the region, for companies from Germany, the UK or Italy, is an important step towards strengthening their position on the Polish and European market. The trade show is a chance to present products on a broad scale, but it’s also an important platform for discussions about the directions of development of the industry, climate-related chanllenges, a place to establish long-term business relationships,” says Marek Orłowski.

The LIGHT Trade Show is an annual event that provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among experts from around the world. Every year, the 10 000 m2 exhibition space is host to 400 exhibitors from countries such as Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Algeria, Spain, China and Czech Republic. At the various stalls, guests have the opportunity to discover modern and innovative lighting solutions. The event is intended for architects, designers, developers, investors, manufacturers, distributors, representatives of local government authorities, building and structure managers, persons responsible for industrial or transportation investments, as well as all specialists looking for lighting intended for special applications. The LIGHT Trade Show combines modern technology and art with expert knowledge in the form of trainings, workshops and seminars. Each year, the event welcomes more than 10 000 guests from over 30 countries around the world, and the trainings, workshops and conferences see the participation of over 1 300 professionals.
